What is myofascial release?
Myofascial release is a form of massage therapy focusing on the whole-body fascial system – the fluid connective tissue surrounding muscles, bones, and organs. Myofascial release uses gentle sustained pressure with the aim to release tightness and relieve pressure and tension. Getting a myofascial release session at Myofascial Release Studio can help you relax, reduce stress, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and boost your overall well-being.
What to expect on your first treatment?
Please do not wear any lotion or oil on your skin before treatment. Bring along a pair of shorts and tank top for postural assessment to each appointment.
Listen to your body before, during and after treatment. Identifying areas of tenderness, tightness or tingling in the body.
Allow yourself to soften to identify with your pain, and be aware of sensations within your body. Remember to breathe and communicate when necessary with your therapist what you are feeling.
What types of myofascial release do you offer?
We offer the John Barnes method of myofascial release, a customized technique for each client involving pressure to the fascial system, which helps to relieve discomfort.
